We now have our 15
and 30 watt Output Transformers
available with black STANDUP END BELLS for an additional cost of
$10.00 per transformer.
These end bells are installed at the factory and cannot be converted
later. For an example of what
standup end bells are, please look at the photo of the Lo Volt and 5 watt
power transformers. The 15 abd 30 watt end bells, however, stand up the
tall, narrow way.
We at West Labs call these

because we don't believe you can buy
transformers of this quality and heft off the shelf anyplace else. The
15 Watt and 30 Watt
sets were built for Matchless to their specs and never picked up
by Matchless from the manufacturer due to financial problems on their
part. Their loss is your gain. The 15 watt set was used in the Spitfire,
Lightning, and Hurricane, Etc. The 30 watt set was used in
the DC30, the SC30, and the John Jorgensen. They are drop in replacements for
Matchless and VOX amps. They are designed for two EL84s (6BQ5s) or four
EL84s respectively.
These Transformers have 4, 8 and 16 ohm taps, and taps for 110v or
220v power! See the Wiring Diagram for 15

The
Lo Volt and 7 Watt Single Ended units were designed to the same
high standards. The 7 watt set is the same as the Lo Volt watt set
except the power transformer has a higher B+ voltage thus the 7 watts!
They were built in the same factory and to the same quality as the
Matchless transformers. They are designed for ONE EL84, 6V6, or 6L6.
The power transformers have no 5 volt winding for a rectifier tube.
It is designed to work with a 6 volt rectifier tube like a 6V4 or a 6CA4
as in a Vox, OR Solid State Diodes!
We are contemplating producing an amp using these transformers that is
switch selectable between a 6V6(6L6) with feedback and an EL84 with no
feedback (American Sound vs. British Sound !).
These Transformers have 4, 8 and 16 ohm taps now !
All four power transformers
have super duty current delivery capability and are not likely to be
overloaded regardless of the number of preamp tubes in your circuit.
West Laboratories transformers are the best.
